Mister Micebook is rather a fan of Hilton’s Curio Collection so this December, he’s off to Louisiana for the launch of The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center…

The November opening will mark the debut of the brand in this American state and the property takes its name from the founder and owner of New Orleans-based Higgins Industries, who oversaw the production of more than 20,000 “Higgins boats” which were used in every major amphibious battle of World War II, including the D-Day invasion of Normandy.

Set beside the fascinating The National WWII Museum, New Orleans’ top attraction, the new four-star property will add a conveniently located solution for planners looking to combine a tour or event at the museum with a stay at a welcoming, Art Deco-style residence featuring 230 rooms and suites, including three opulent residences named after presidents Roosevelt, Truman and Eisenhower.

After a day at the museum, Mister Micebook will be keen to explore the hotel’s public spaces, which also display selected works from the museum’s artefact collection. Inside the conference centre, 14 meeting rooms are available for private functions, while the museum’s scholars and curators are on hand to enhance events.
