Greengage Solutions has announced the international expansion of its ECOsmart sustainability certification programme, with certified properties now operating across the UK, Europe, the USA and Asia — and the first Australian venues entering the certification pipeline.
The milestone marks a significant evolution for ECOsmart, which launched as a UK-focused framework and has grown into an increasingly recognised global standard for sustainable hotels, venues and event suppliers. Certified hotels are now live in destinations including Rome, Lisbon, Zurich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Helsinki and Washington DC. Properties currently progressing through the certification process are located in Ras Al Khaimah, Denver, Boston, Oslo, Madrid, Singapore, Vancouver, Stockholm, Sydney, Nashville and New Delhi.
Designed specifically for the hotel, meetings, events and business travel sectors, ECOsmart provides independent sustainability certification aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, offering a structured and transparent framework for organisations looking to measure and improve their environmental performance.
Andrew Perolls, CEO of Greengage Solutions, said the expansion is a direct response to growing corporate demand. “As organisations place greater focus on sustainability within their venue and hotel sourcing strategies, there is increasing demand for standards that can be applied consistently across multiple markets,” he said. “The continued international growth of ECOsmart helps support agencies and corporates managing global event and accommodation programmes by providing access to independently certified venues across a growing number of destinations.”
Greengage says the expanding network is designed to simplify sustainability benchmarking and reporting for event and travel managers who need greater visibility and consistency across global programmes. ECOsmart certification is open to hotels, venues and suppliers operating across the meetings, accommodation and events sectors worldwide.
