2023 saw some notable new openings including Raffles at The OWO and The Peninsula London, but for planners always on the lookout for the hottest new properties, there are plenty more on the horizon in 2024. We check out six of the best…
The Emory London
The Emory, the fourth London property from Maybourne Hotel Group, is set to open its doors in Knightsbridge in spring 2024. The exclusive all-suite property will feature a striking ‘sails’ structure soaring above the treetops of Hyde Park, along with 60 suites set over nine floors and a wellness space. There will be a rooftop offering sweeping views dedicated to hotel guests only, and renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will introduce his highly acclaimed ABC concept of fresh, local and conscious cuisine to London for the first time from his Manhattan outpost.
Mandarin Oriental Mayfair
The long-awaited sister property to the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park is finally set to open its doors early next year. Located on Hanover Square, Mandarin Oriental Mayfair will offer 50 rooms and suites designed by UK-based Studio Indigo, and there will also be 78 private residences. The hotel will be home to award-winning chef Akira Back’s first namesake restaurant in the UK, along with his A Bar Lounge concept, and a spa featuring an indoor 25-metre swimming pool, sauna, vitality pool, relaxation room and bespoke treatments. Artworks by local British artists will feature throughout the public spaced.
art’otel London Hoxton
The art’otel brand will open its second London property, art’otel London Hoxton in March 2024. The hotel features 357 rooms including 48 suites, a destination bar, restaurant and terraces with 360° panoramic views of the city, an art gallery, ground floor restaurant, lounge and cocktail bar, a spa, gym (on the 26th floor) and indoor swimming pool, as well as significant event space including a 60-seat auditorium. In keeping with the art’otel brand, art’otel London Hoxton will play host to a rotating calendar of exhibitions, as well as cultural and artistic events. The hotel’s appointed Signature Artist D*Face is a globally recognised British contemporary street artist with roots in east London.
Six Senses London
The luxury Six Senses brand will make its UK debut in the former Whiteleys shopping centre in Bayswater, London. The property will offer 110 guest rooms and suites and 14 branded residences, a cozy lobby bar and lounge, an all-day dining restaurant with an open kitchen, and a seating area in the courtyard. In a space reminiscent of an old-fashioned London underground station, Six Senses Spa will feature an indoor swimming pool, the Alchemy Bar, and a relaxation room with vaulted ceilings.
The Newman
The debut property from Kinsfolk & Co, The Newman will open in Fitzrovia in winter 2024. It will feature 81 rooms, suites and apartments. The rooftop floor offers a signature suite with a private terrace and when booked as a whole, provides exclusive use of the floor and its four-bedroom suite. Other amenities include a European brasserie seating 120 customers, a lower ground cocktail bar and two private event and dining rooms, as well as a spa occupying one floor of the building. Features include hot and cold experience cabins, an active salt therapy room, a hydrotherapy pool, in addition to treatment rooms, a meditation studio and a gym.
Park Hyatt London River Thames
Also due to open late next year is the Park Hyatt London River Thames (main image) located within R&F UK’s Nine Elms development on the south bank of the river. The 203-room hotel will be home to a spa featuring an indoor pool, nail studio, relaxation lounges, fitness room and yoga studio. Dining-wise there’ll be an all-day restaurant, Asian cuisine and wine bar. The hotel will also offer 10 meeting rooms including a large ballroom that can host up to 1000 guests, and the signature art-filled Park Hyatt Living Room for guests to unwind.
