Around 500 event profs came together at Convene London this week for two days of inspiring content and meaningful connections at micebook EXPO 2023.
We were thrilled to welcome more than 300 corporate and agency buyers who participated in around 2,000 pre-booked appointments, as well as additional meetings and networking, across the two days with more than 100 international and local exhibitors. More than 5,110 electronic business cards were exchanged throughout the event.

Highlights from the first day included presentations on boosting employees value propositions with First Event and Lloyds Banking Group, a panel session on how to achieve sustainability goals without breaking the bank, featuring Webmart MD Richard Boon, Amy Underdown, head of events and marketing at Oxford Analytica, and Patrick Ockendon, client development director, The Collective by BCD M&E, and facilitated by isla’s Anna Abdelnoor.
Mike Ford, founder of Grateful Lemon and former co-founder and partner of Touch Associates, delivered a session on personal energy and wellbeing for our nineteen agency leaders’ group, while our next-generation content series, sponsored by CastleBell Recruitment, included sessions on personal branding.
The day ended with a drink’s reception, featuring entertainment from fantastic dance group The Frobacks.
Day 2 kicked off with a plenary on happiness in the workplace by Ordinarily Different’s Sophie Bryan, as well as sessions on career development with Santander’s head of sponsorship & events Melissa Noakes, event technology and Diary of a CMO. The plenary content sessions were expertly hosted by Neil Basing-Hudson, thanks to our partner conferenceemcees.com.
Throughout the two days The Head Shot Guy was on hand to take professional headshots for visitors, Megabooth brought its 360 Photobooth, which captured slow-motion video of guests, Sixth Sense provided tasty ice creams, and our charity partner Shelter from the Storm collected more than £1,000 in donations to help homeless people in London.
