The first GLAM – Global Luxury Aligned for MICE – saw 12 luxury hotel brands join forces on 10 March for an industry networking and celebratory event that raised more than £9,241 for charity.
The event was hosted by senior sales representatives from DorchesterCollection, Rocco Forte Hotels, Belmond, Accor, Kempinski, Corinthia, Four Seasons Hotels, Mandarin Oriental, Marriott International Luxury Brands, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Shangri-La Group, and The Doyle Collection.
The event took place aboard Bateaux London, and more than 100 agency and corporate planners were invited to enjoy an evening of fabulous food and drink, and entertainment while cruising along the river Thames.
In partnership with Meeting Needs, the 12 luxury brands each donated some fantastic prizes for a silent auction, and raffle to raise money for the South London Cares and North London Cares charities, which tackle loneliness and isolation by bringing older and younger neighbours together.
“We’re so proud that the GLAM co-hosts and Meeting Needs selected North London Cares and South London Cares to benefit from the generosity of its community on Thursday evening. This amazing investment will help us to tackle isolation and loneliness across our communities in London and ensure that no one is left behind as we continue to transition out of the pandemic,” said Ellenor Baron, Director of Development at The Cares Family.
Other partners that supported the event included GF Entertainment, Gusbourne, Macallan, Our Secret Lab, Rich Reynolds and The Travelling Hands.
Following the success of the first event, the luxury hotel brands are hoping GLAM will become an annual date in the events industry calendar.
