Taiwan’s C&I star is soaring, with the destination recently named one of Ovation DMC’s top five most popular emerging MICE destinations for 2020 and 2021.

With new exhibition centres opening and a strong reputation for large scale events, coupled with a distinctly diverse landscape, Taiwan is rapidly becoming a C&I destination of choice for event planners looking for sleek venues and a heady dose of culture.

Mister Micebook has booked his first trip out to Taipei where he’s keen to explore recent openings including the Renaissance Taipei Shihlin Hotel, the Hilton Taipei Sinban and the 129-room designer chic Kimpton Da An Hotel.

Situated next to the famous Shihlin Night Market, the 104-room Renaissance Taipei Shihlin Hotel debuted as brand’s first hotel in Taiwan last summer. The hotel provides 855 square metres of event space at its six functions rooms with foyer space, with the largest of these capable of hosting up to 450 people. Food and beverage facilities at the hotel include the Wan Li Restaurant, which serves Shanghainese fusion cuisine, and the Shihlin Kitchen all-day dining restaurant, with food inspired by the Shihlin Night Market and Western cuisine.

Hilton Taipei Sinban is conveniently located one bridge away from the main Taipei commercial district, connecting guests with five shopping centres, entertainment options and the local night market. It offers 400 stylish rooms and 3,105 sqm of event space, including three ballrooms.

The first Asian property from Kimpton Hotels and Resorts, the boutique brand of Intercontinental Hotels Group, opened in March this year in the eastern Da’an district of Taipei, close to key landmarks including the striking Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall and the vibrant Zhongxiao Dunhua shopping district.

And the hotels are set to continue expanding, refurbishing and opening well in to 2020 and beyond with a Park Hyatt and Andaz slated to open in the new Taipei Sky Tower development plus an additional six IHG properties in the pipeline.
