Whether Love Island has you tuning in or turning off, there is no denying that the reality show that casts a bunch of aesthetically-gifted singletons in to a luxury villa has thrown Mallorca in to the spotlight. And it has reason to bask in the glory – the region boasts pretty towns and beaches to explore, a selection of top end hotels, gastronomic restaurants aplenty and a mere three hours flying time from London.
Ses Salines is home to the Love Island villa and is known locally as a region best explored through hikes and bikes, while the coastline offers water pursuits including sailing, kayaking and snorkelling.
Luxury properties abound across Mallorca, with the east coast on the Cap Vermell estate housing the first Park Hyatt Resort in Europe.
Overlooking the Canyamel valley, the Park Hyatt Mallorca (right) is a haven for incentive groups, with adults only pool, the decadent Serenitas spa with its quartz sand bed massage, four golf courses and bikes to explore the surrounding areas.
Venture to the glorious hillside town of Deia and check out the gorgeous Belmond La Residencia, set within a warren of 16th century manor houses surrounded by citrus and olive groves. The Belmond property features its own art gallery while boat excursions, donkey trails and Vespa tours keep guests busy.
