There’s something instantly likeable about 25hours Hotel Copenhagen Indre By. Maybe it’s the quirky details that greet you at every turn, the playful “you know one, you know none” motto that perfectly captures its spirit, or the fact that, even in the heart of a busy capital, it feels effortlessly relaxed the moment you walk in the door. Whatever it may be, I fell a little bit in love with it during my recent stay as part of the How to Copenhagen event, and I’ve been singing its praises to anyone who’ll listen ever since.

The hotel is located in a beautifully reimagined 19th-century building that once served as a university, and the interiors, designed by the acclaimed Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, tell a story of “passion and knowledge,” weaving together bold colour, eclectic artwork and curious little details that could easily be missed on first glance. Each corner feels thoughtfully curated, and full of hidden surprises I could have spent hours discovering. This is truly a hotel designed to be lived in, explored, and enjoyed.

The 243 guestrooms are divided between the “Passion” and “Knowledge” themes, a nod to the building’s academic past, and range from Medium rooms for solo travellers to Gigantic suites with extra space to unwind. Mine struck the perfect balance of colourful, comfortable, and chock full of personality. You’d think after the lobby’s bold first impression that the room wouldn’t come as a surprise, but it still managed to have me immediately reaching for my phone to share pictures of the quirky interior.

As a MICE destination, 25hours Indre By really shines. During a tour with the hotel’s wonderful sales director, Lisbeth Simonsen, I discovered a suite of meeting spaces that are every bit as imaginative as the guest rooms. Each one has its own distinctive look and feel, such as the the intimate Doubt room to the larger Style room, and the brilliantly named F**k Everything room, all designed to spark creativity, not stifle it. These aren’t your average meeting spaces; they invite ideas, conversation and a bit of fun along the way.

Location-wise, it’s pretty much spot on for delegates. Nestled between the Round Tower and the bustling Købmagergade shopping street, the hotel is just a short walk from Nørreport Station, putting the rest of the city (and the airport) within quick and easy reach.

Sustainability is a big part of life in Copenhagen, and 25hours Indre By fits right in to that ethos. The hotel sources food and products locally, encourages guests to explore the city by bike, and limits housekeeping to only when it’s requested. Little touches like energy-efficient lighting and the curated shop of local makers show that small, thoughtful choices can go a long way.

Perhaps what sets 25hours apart most is its energy. There’s a real sense of personality running through everything, from the friendly, informal service to the witty room signage and curated local touches. It’s fun, functional, and full of charm, and certainly the kind of place that makes you feel instantly at home, whether you’re there for business, pleasure, or a bit of both.
