Event Spotlight – micebook meets in Paris for Ventures 2024 1024 683 micebook.

Corporate and agency buyers from companies including Meta, Dentsu, AFME, Sparq Live, DRPG, Eventful, Hotel Desk, asembl Group, Event Concept, ZiaBia, Eclipse, The Incentive House, Meet Events, Broadsword and HeadBox headed to Paris last week for micebook Ventures Chapter III.

The three-day event brought together an 80-strong group of event professionals, including suppliers such as Barcelo Hotel Group, Barbican, Vienna Convention Bureau, Spiced Blue Representation, Handpicked Hotels, Destination DC, Fairmont Monte Carlo, H-Hotels and W Budapest.

The third edition of our sustainability-focused forum continued the theme of business events as a force for good, with thought-provoking panel sessions and interactive discussions on climate change, sustainable travel and smart cities, plus one-to-one meetings, networking receptions and dinners, and immersive experiences.

Most of our UK delegates travelled to Paris with Eurostar, which unveiled its new travel classes and catering offering on 4 November. With a carbon footprint 96% lower than flying from London to Paris, the sustainable journey set the stage for a transformative summit experience.

Guests stayed at the TOO Hotel Paris – MGallery, with one-to-one meetings taking place across the three days at the Pullman Hotel – Bercy Village, the H4 Hotel Wyndham Paris Pleyel Resort, and Jungle Palace Restaurant, showcasing new venues and up and coming regions throughout the city.

Under the 2024 theme ‘Green2Gold’, a thought-provoking panel session on day one featuring experts from outside the events industry explored two key sub themes: Jet Zero or Bust – Exploring the future of aviation and sustainable transport solutions; and Cities of The Future – Deciphering the best destinations for major events amidst urbanisation and climate challenges (read our key takeaways from the content session here).

A welcome reception on the first evening at the Tac Tac skybar at TOO Hotel saw attendees treated to delicious Asian fusion food and stunning views across the Paris skyline.

In addition to taking part in one-to-one meetings on day two, buyers and suppliers explored Paris through unique activities on foot, bikes and the water, learning about the clean-up of the Seine for the Olympics, experiencing a mind-blowing VR experience and climbing and fashion.

Dinner on the second evening was at the Riviera Fuga on the Seine, with guests surprised at the end of the night with a ride around the city on a disco bus.
