There’s nothing like a new year, or in this case a new decade, to inspire change. And CHANGE is the theme of the first live micebook event in 2020, which promises to be yet another great opportunity for #eventprofs to network and be inspired on 15 January at the new nhow London.
While CHANGE maybe on the agenda, we will be sticking to our tradition of showcasing the newest, the hottest and the most exciting hotspots we can find.
So we’re thrilled to be hosting #changenow – the first industry event at nhow London, a new lifestyle hotel opening in January 2020. The UK’s first nhow hotel, the property plays with London’s oldest traditions and technological future in an unexpected way, right in the centre of the city’s most creative and happening districts.
In keeping with the theme of all things new, the event will feature an afternoon of inspiration and learning focused around emerging destinations.
Representatives from agencies including Top Banana, Purple Dog Solutions and Worldspan, will present and discuss up and coming destinations from Israel and Rwanda to South America, looking at the challenges and opportunities around pitching, operating and delivering events and incentives that go off-the-beaten track.
This will be followed by some select MICE Trailers – giving suppliers the opportunity to showcase their new and inspiring products to planners.
In the evening, buyers will be given the opportunity to network with each other and micebook partners including our sponsor Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB), in the striking surrounds of the new nhow.
The eight-storey hotel, located between the City, Islington and Shoreditch within the ‘250 City Road’ development designed by Sir Norman Foster’s firm Foster + Partners, will feature 190 rooms, a restaurant, bar, gym, networking spaces and several meeting rooms.
A ‘Big Ben’ rocket sculpture will be one of the lobby’s quirkier elements. Eclectic ensembles of colourful furniture on ‘pixelated’ carpets will invite guests to unwind, while an installation made from wooden boards around an LED fireplace creates a relaxing atmosphere.
Guests will also get the opportunity to take home a unique personalised piece of art – a photograph of their iris, courtesy of EYECONART, which will be there on the night.
Bettina Mumenthaler, head of Convention Bureau UK/Ireland at SCIB said: “I’m excited to partner with micebook on another one of their great events. They just know how to make an event worthwhile attending, for both buyers and suppliers. There’s always this one special touch, the venue is new and interesting, they come up with stimulating activities and last but not least, the people I meet are interested to know more about Switzerland. And that’s what I need and want from an event I’m attending!
