There’s more to the Lion City than meets the eye, finds Mister micebook…
When was the last time you ordered a Singapore Sling? The gin-based cocktail was made famous by a bartender at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel and drinking the pink concoction anywhere else is practically sacrilegious.
Lucky then that the grande dame of Singaporean hospitality is set to unveil its painstaking makeover later this year. Mister micebook can’t wait to explore the new bars, restaurants and courtyards that have been designed to make the property the place to meet, chill and socialise.
But this isn’t the only new property in the Lion City this year. Set to open in August, The Barracks Hotel is the sister property of The Outpost Hotel and Village Hotel at Sentosa. Inside the conserved Colonial residence, 40 beautifully appointed rooms have been designed with modern interiors to welcome discerning guests to Sentosa.
And for luxury living in the very heart of the civic and cultural district, The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore is a strong contender, set in the iconic Capitol Building and Stamford House. These beautiful buildings have been converted in to a hotel featuring 157 rooms, an outdoor saltwater pool and a new restaurant with a Michelin-starred chef at the helm.
