We are thrilled to announce a partnership with industry sustainability body isla for our inaugural micebook Ventures next month, to help ensure sustainability is embedded across all elements of the event and mitigate the environmental impact wherever possible.
Ventures22, which is taking place at Spaces at The Spine in The Knowledge Quarter Liverpool on 31 October-2 November, is focused around the theme of Re-building Better and transforming the world of business events into a ‘Force for Good’, which aligns with isla’s mission to support the events industry’s transition to Net Zero.
The micebook team will work closely with isla to implement both Proseed, its universal framework for delivering sustainable events, and TRACE, its purpose-built carbon measurement platform dedicated to the event industry.
Launched last summer, proseed is a free tool packed full of information, guidance, resources and actions, while TRACE captures and reports emission and waste data from live, hybrid and digital events.
While Ventures22 was planned with sustainability at its core from the outset – for example sustainability has been incorporated into every aspect of the design and build of our host venue Spaces at The Spine, the event is 100% meat free, and we are working on reducing our emissions footprint throughout the programme – the partnership with isla will help us push it even further.
Using TRACE will also enable us to measure and report the carbon emission of Ventures, with reports generated in real time, pre- and post-event.
The partnership with isla will see the organisation present a content session with BBC, one of its corporate members, on the final day of Ventures, while a number of isla members are also taking part in the event. These include Collaborate Global, Broadsword, Goose Live, Sledge and Strata.
Toni Griggs, isla growth lead, said: “micebook Ventures reflects our shared mission to bring root and branch transformation to the events industry as we forge a path towards a climate resilient future. We’re super excited that the micebook team have adopted TRACE by isla to measure, report and share learnings of the impact of Ventures22. Carbon measurement is more than just numbers, it’s the foundation for a reimagined vision of the industry, one that balances people, planet and profit.”
