Mister Micebook can’t wait to discover the thrills of Phoenix…
When Atari, one of the best-loved gaming and entertainment producers announced that its first video game-themed hotel would break ground in Phoenix this year, Mister Micebook decided now was the perfect time to check out what the up and coming US destination has to offer #eventprofs.
It may be some time before groups will get to experience the first hotel that will bring the iconic brand to life with immersive experiences, gaming stations and studios on site in a nostalgic yet contemporary environment. However the destination, which featured on Global DMC Partners 2020 Meeting & Conference Destination Hot List, has plenty to offer in the meantime.
The best place to start is Downtown Phoenix, where you’ll find sports arenas, live music, rooftop lounges, museums, theatres, art galleries and more than 100 restaurants. Downtown is also home to the Phoenix Convention Center, state university and a number of hotels including the newly renovated Sheraton Phoenix Downtown.
The Hyatt Regency is also undergoing a multi-million-dollar floor-to-ceiling renovation of its 693 rooms and adding a new restaurant and market as well as revitalised meeting spaces.
Once you’ve exhausted the bustling downtown, take a road trip to nearby Scottsdale for some downtime in one of its many spa resorts. Check into the Andaz Resort, a secluded 23-acre, 185-bungalow urban oasis overlooking iconic Camelback Mountain, or The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa where its 732 rooms and suites were relaunched in December to provide an eco-opulent retreat.
