Those gorgeous Peninsula Hotels are something of a work of art themselves when you consider their chic facades and design sleek interiors.
Fitting then that the hotels group, the official hotel partner of Art Basel Hong Kong, has announced a global contemporary art programme, commissioning works from talented arts pushing boundaries and creating thought-provoking works.
Designed to bring a smile to visitors faces, the Peninsula Hong Kong currently features installations and works plus an intriguing egg-shaped Chinese teahouse space which offers visitors a zen-inspired private dining venue.
Some of the works will then be transported to The Peninsula Paris this autumn, where they will be joined by newly commissioned installations from local artists. Indeed, the group’s ten locations will all enjoy the programme, which complements its existing ‘Artist in Residence’ scheme, which is designed to support emerging artists, while showcasing culturally-representative artworks to the guests.
Meanwhile back in Hong Kong, the skyline restaurant Felix has launched a Five Senses Art Experience menu, designed by chef Juan Gomez, to delight the five senses of taste, sight, touch, sound and smell, all while staring out across Victoria Harbour.
