We all know the Paris hotel scene is full of grand dames, but lately the buzz is all about the boutiques. A number of new super-chic petite properties are popping up all over the French capital, and here’s three hotels in Paris that we’re super excited about…

Hotel Grand Powers
This Small Luxury Hotel of the World property may not be new, in fact it’s been welcoming well-heeled travellers to Paris for 100 years, but to celebrate its 100th anniversary it was given a complete refurbishment. The new look property opened its doors in January offering 50 rooms and suites boasting period features, detailed fireplaces, oak floors and sumptuous fabrics.

Built in the mid-19th century in the Haussmann style, this boutique retreat rubs shoulders with the fashion houses and stately residences of the Golden Triangle. Chanel. Saint Laurent. Louis Vuitton. Grand Powers puts you among fashion royalty. Spend the day browsing the new collections in the Avenue Montaigne and Avenue George V boutiques. Or dive into the medieval streets of the Marais, for a vision of pre-Haussmann Paris. Back at Grand Powers, cocktails await in the lounge bar – as night falls and the city lights up around you.

JK Place Paris
Opening in June on the Left Bank, this new property from JK Place – the uber-chic brand’s first outside Italy – will have 30 guest rooms and suites decorated by designer Michele Bonan with bespoke Italian furniture, objets d’art and antiques sourced from the famous Paris flea markets.

There will also be a spa by top French brand Sisley with a swimming pool, while dining outlets, in partnership with Casa Tua, will also offer culinary classes with renowned chefs. JK Place reportedly spent five years scouting the Parisian real estate scene before settling on the former European Consulate at 82 Rue de Lille – sandwiched between Boulevard Saint Germain and the Seine in the 7th arrondissement.

Hotel Brach Paris
Located in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, Brach Paris by Evok Hotels Collection opened in October with 59 rooms boasting Eiffel Tower views and an interior design by Philippe Starck. The building itself, a former mail sorting centre, (circa 1970s) has the architecture of the 30s meets modernism, Bauhaus, Dada, Surrealism and Art Brut.

Everywhere – from the restaurant to the hotel rooms, from the sports club to the rooftop garden – poetic mysteries, unusual objects and a selection of art works create a surprising, warm and eclectic atmosphere. All suite guests get access to the hotel’s rooftop vegetable garden and henhouse, while on the lower level, the fitness club is designed like a 1930s boxing club and has top-notch amenities and daily fitness classes.
