The Opus Group has been acquired by private equity firm EagleTree Capital, marking the latest deal in a wave of consolidation across the events and experiential agency sector.
The global agency network, which includes Opus Agency, MAS and Verve, was acquired from Growth Catalyst Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The move follows a flurry of recent M&A activity in the sector, as agencies look to scale internationally and meet growing demand for integrated, experience-led marketing. It also comes shortly after Opus expanded its EMEA team, as reported by micebook last month.
Opus said the investment will support its next phase of growth, with a focus on expanding capabilities, accelerating delivery and strengthening its global footprint. The agency group works with more than 70 global brands including Amazon, BMW, Diageo, Google and Salesforce, and operates across the US, EMEA and APAC.
Kim Kopetz, president and CEO of The Opus Group, said: “EagleTree is an exceptional partner for this next stage because they understand where this industry is heading and appreciate the calibre of the agencies, the client relationships and the global footprint we’ve built.
“Their investment will help deepen our capabilities, accelerate our delivery and provide even greater value for clients around the world.”
EagleTree brings experience across experiential, events and marketing services, with previous investments including Sparks, PRA and MMGY.
Michael Struble, senior partner at EagleTree, said: “We see a strong market position at a time when integrated, experience-led partners are increasingly what global brands are looking for, and we are excited to support the Opus team as they scale the business further.”
The deal reflects a broader trend across the industry, where private equity investment and consolidation continue to reshape the agency landscape.
