Sleek Events has strengthened its senior leadership team following an average 23% year-on-year growth over the past three years. Founder Jennifer Davidson has moved into the role of CEO, stepping back from day-to-day operations to focus on long-term strategy, client relationships and company culture.
Josie Klafkowska, who joins from VML, has been appointed managing director and will take responsibility for P&L, growth and the agency’s operational leadership. The restructure comes at a time of significant consolidation across the events sector, with Sleek reaffirming its commitment to independence and sustainable growth. Klafkowska added that she was looking forward to supporting the company’s next phase of growth, bringing experience from both global networks and boutique agencies.
Founded in 2013, Sleek has grown from a team of five in 2020 to just under 50 employees today. The agency delivers global experience programmes ranging from executive dinners to large-scale productions including AWS London Summit, which is expected to welcome more than 24,000 attendees this year. Davidson said the move would allow her to focus on shaping the agency’s long-term direction and strengthening client partnerships. “It’s business as usual, just with stronger foundations,” she said.
Further changes within the leadership team include Samantha Gabriel stepping into the role of deputy head of live, supporting head of live David Hills, who will focus on strategy and complex projects. David Blair, formerly head of technical production, has been appointed technical and innovation director, a newly created role designed to strengthen the agency’s focus on immersive and technology-led experiences. Sleek is also recruiting across operations, HR, marketing, new business and technical production as it continues to scale.
