Lemon Lane has stepped up its commitment to sustainability with the launch of its first ESG Charter ‘The People and Planet Plan.’
The event agency, which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary in business, has already made significant progress in terms of embedding sustainable initiatives across operations and event delivery. Now the agency is expanding this focus to encompass the social and governance aspects of ESG.
The ESG Charter is a comprehensive client-facing framework outlining the agency’s goals and key focus areas between now and 2030. These goals include:
– Continuous measurement of all event-related emissions in 2025; a fully embedded operational emissions pathway by 2027, and 50% reduction in carbon intensity per employee by 2030.
– Ensuring 90% of event assets are hired, reused, repurposed, or recycled by 2027, achieving zero waste to landfill status by 2030
– Publication of the agency’s first annual Operational Impact Report in 2025, and the first joint Operational and Event Impact Report by 2027.
– Establishing the Ethical Procurement Framework in 2025, and embedding this policy with continuous improvement strategy by 2027
The People and Planet Plan also outlines Lemon Lane’s approach to measuring ESG impact, with the support of an in-house specialist consultant, to develop robust, consistent reporting methods for benchmarking sustainability, DEI and broader social value metrics.
Jade Howgrave-Graham, director and co-founder of Lemon Lane said: “Since launching Lemon Lane almost five years ago, we’ve shared a clear belief that events can be a force for good.
“We have created this People and Planet Plan to set out our ESG roadmap for the future. This strategy is intended to help us stay focused and accountable, showing how we put our ESG values into action across events, operations and partnerships. It is also a tool to keep our team aligned and support open, honest conversations with clients.”
