Creative experience agency Emota, part of Inizio Engage, has partnered with Manchester Metropolitan University to help events management students develop the brand identity for a new charity event.
The event is university-wide walk raising funds for student mental health services and the collaboration marks the start of a creative journey that will see Emota’s team guide Manchester Met’s Events Management students through the early stages of brand creation. The first workshop has taken place at the University, with a follow-up session planned at Emota’s Manchester office.
“The ambition for our Events courses is to produce industry ready graduates that are the most well-prepared talent available to employers. We know that the best way to do that is to involve industry directly in our teaching. With this philosophy in mind, when we had the idea for this project, Emota were the only people that we approached,” said Rob Bagust, Lecturer, Manchester Metropolitan University.
“With a legacy of providing support to the university going back well over a decade, we knew that their world class team would not only deliver great outcomes, but their passion and thoughtful approach would take our student team on this amazing journey with them.”
Mark Jackson, managing director at Emota, added: “We’re thrilled to be supporting Manchester Met on this project. A few people from the Emota team came through Manchester Met’s Events courses, so this collaboration feels especially meaningful. Giving back to the place that helped shape their careers and doing it through our volunteering days is a brilliant way to put our creative skills to good use.”
The partnership is designed not just to produce a compelling new event identity, but to offer Manchester Met students a rare, hands-on experience of working on a live creative brief with an agency team.
