Premium meeting and event venue provider Convene opened its largest venue in New York City last week with a grand opening event for 600 guests.
Located on the 24th floor of the iconic skyscraper, Convene 30 Hudson Yards was designed in partnership with acclaimed architecture and design firm Woods Bagot and draws inspiration from the nearby High Line and the Chelsea art gallery district.
Spanning 72,000 square-feet across the 24th floor, the centrepiece of the venue is a 780-person grand hall, and it has a full buyout capacity of just under 1,500.
The theme of the opening event was “An Evening Above the High Line” and the venue was completely transformed to pay homage to the iconic NYC park including the addition of greenery throughout the space as well as backlit park benches.
Event activations included bucket drummers and break dancers, a live muralist from painting a city-inspired piece of art, musical performances and more.
F&B prepared by Convene’s in-house and on-site Executive Chef-led culinary team and included a live Jamón ibérico carving station; “Girl Dinner” bites, a handheld Caesar salad bite in a lettuce wrap with a french fry; a taco and margarita bar; an espresso martini wall; and more.
Design features of Convene 30 Hudson Yards include artisanal textured wallpaper, warm wool and linen textiles in amber, terracotta, and charcoal, elegantly arranged geometric wood flooring and bespoke millwork ceiling rafts with integrated lighting.
This is the third time Convene and Woods Bagot have partnered to create a high-design meeting and event venue; they previously completed two London projects: Convene Sancroft, St. Paul’s and Convene 22 Bishopsgate, both of which have won awards recognising the venue design.
