Pure Communications Group won the award for Best Charity or CSR Event at this year’s micebook Awards. We share highlights from the agency’s winning entry…
The SPACE Valentines Ball was more than a fundraiser—it was a heartfelt, high-impact celebration of community, connection, and cause. Commissioned by Solent Professionals and delivered by Pure, the event honoured a colleague lost to Motor Neurone Disease and his daughter living with Cerebral Palsy, raising an incredible £80,000 for MNDA and Jemima’s Journey.
Every detail was curated to balance emotion and entertainment—immersive storytelling, gamified giving, and thoughtful pacing drove engagement from 340 guests. The event featured welcome drinks, a three-course dinner, a celebrity-hosted live auction, silent auction, raffle, fundraising games, and after-dinner entertainment.
Andrew and Jemima’s stories were told through video, photography, and powerful anecdotes, reinforcing the reason everyone was gathered. These stories weren’t just informative—they moved people to act, donate, and get involved.
With emissions tracked via TRACE and zero single-use plastic, it was as sustainable as it was successful. St Mary’s Stadium was selected as the host venue—an iconic Southampton landmark and a space that resonated with the local community.
The stadium offered the right mix of elegance and familiarity, helping drive ticket sales and attendee excitement, and aligned perfectly with the emphasis on sustainability. The venue’s “Home Grown” initiative has seen over 3,000 trees planted to offset carbon emissions— reinforcing its long-term sustainability commitment.
Accessibility was central, ensuring guests with mobility challenges could participate fully.
Judges praised the focus on delegate experience and developing a strong connection to the cause through storytelling and creative content.
