Gran Hotel Taoro, one of Spain’s oldest grand dames is set to reopen in Tenerife in December 2024, taking MICE business from April 2025, and Jo Beames Consultancy has been appointed to represent the luxury hotel to the UK meetings and events market.
Located in Puerto de la Cruz, in the north of Tenerife, the property will offer 199 rooms, gourmet restaurants, terraces, flexible meeting and event space, three pools and the Sandára Wellness Center, and a Congress Centre annex to the hotel.
It provides an ideal base for meeting and incentive groups looking to explore all the Canary Island has to offer, with its all-year-round good climate, spectacular coastlines, Mount Teide National Park, whale-watching, historical cities, golf and much more.
Designed by the French architect Adolphe Coquet, the property has a storied past, with Spanish royalty like Alfonso XIII, the Duke of Windsor (Edward VIII), renowned author Agatha Christie, and the first Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Konrad Adenauer, among previous distinguished guests.
First opened in 1890, a heritage listed building, the hotel is currently undergoing a major renovation to restore and reimagine the property for future generations.
