The Pig Hotels has announced that it has achieved B Corp certification as part of its ongoing ESG efforts.

This means that the business has been certified by B Lab, the not-for-profit behind the B Corp movement, as having met rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.

The B Corp certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers.

Tom Ross, CEO of The Pig, commented: “We are so proud to have achieved this recognition of becoming B Corp certified, joining this brilliant community of purpose-driven businesses.

“People and planet have always been at the heart of everything we do, ever since we opened the very first Pig in the New Forest 13 years ago. We know our main job at The Pigs is to make sure everyone has the most delicious, fun and relaxing time with us – but making responsible, thoughtful decisions to be a force for good is always at the forefront of our minds.”

Ross continued: “We’re not saying we’re perfect. We know there’s more to do and we’re committed to help lead the way for the hospitality industry. B Corp isn’t about being the best – it’s about always working to be better. You can be sure we’re up for the challenge.”

The Pig plan to open three new hotels in 2024, including The Pig and The Village Pub in the Cotswolds followed by properties in Stratford-Upon-Avon, at the end of 2024, and The Pig at Groombridge, Tunbridge Wells, in summer 2025.
