It’s just three weeks till The Meetings Show kicks off at ExCeL London, with a jam-packed programme featuring a stellar line up of meeting and event suppliers from across the globe, a thought-provoking education programme, and countless networking opportunities.
Taking place on 19-20 June, it’s an unmissable event for #eventprofs, whether you’re just starting out on your journey in this fast-paced industry, or a senior leader – there is always something new to learn or someone new to meet.
Here are 10 reasons why you should attend…
1. Discover international destinations from all four corners of the globe under one roof, with tourism boards and CVBs representing the likes of Aruba to Malaysia, and Riga to Vancouver, and everywhere in between, exhibiting this year.
2. Immerse yourself in interactive learning at the Blank Canvas stage. Back for a second year, it will showcase best practice event design with sessions throughout the two days featuring AI hackathons (19 June at 11:30am) and a Neurodiverse Design Challenge (19 June at 2:30pm).
3. Meet this year’s new exhibitors, which include STAR Your World, who will be joined by six DMC partners; the Greek National Tourist Office, VisitDetroit CVB, Casa de Campo, Visit Faroes, Hyatt Hotels and The Hoxton.
4. Connect with buyers from top corporate and agency brands such as Agiito, AXA, BCD Meetings & Events, EDF, BNP Paribas, George P Johnson, Smyle, Top Banana, Shell International, Santander, Identity and HSBC.
5. Take a tour of the UK’s best event destinations during a post-show fam-trip. Aberdeen, Bath, Belfast, Bristol, Brighton, Coventry, Dublin, Malta, Paris and Wales are just a few of the destinations that have been visited in previous years.
6. Don’t miss Transformative Conversations: Turning Conflict into Connection with Jo Berry (20 June at 10am Innovate & Inspire). Jo turned her father’s death in an IRA bombing into a mission for reconciliation, forming a unique relationship with Patrick Magee, the ex-combatant responsible, and will share how empathy can bridge even the deepest divides.
7. Relax and refresh your mind, or simply take a break from the hustle and bustle of the show floor in the EventWell Wellbeing Hub. New for this year’s The Meetings Show, EventWell Buddies will be on hand to help you navigate the venue and event, providing information on the layout, facilities, and key areas – like keynote stages, the quiet room, accessible toilets and more.
8. Shake it off with Taylor Smith. You’ve never seen a trend retrospective presented in exactly this way before. It’s Trends vs Reality (19 June at 10am Blank Canvas) and it’s bound to be not just informative, but also rather hilarious. And yes, of course there will be dancing!
9. Meet the next generation of event talent at this year’s show. The Meetings Show is committed to helping event industry newcomers build their networks, learn from industry heavyweights and forge their own career paths. So, in partnership with Event First Steps, it has created a dedicated programme at this year’s show, for students and individuals looking to get into the industry.
10. Hear from leading corporates at the micebook ‘talks’ panel session (19 June at 4pm Innovate & Inspire), where corporate experts from AFME, The Crown Estates, CACEIS and Evening Standard will share strategies for managing stakeholder expectations, measuring event success, and addressing emerging obstacles. Gain the tools and insights needed to effectively plan and execute impactful live events that deliver tangible value.
