The UK Creative Festival (UKCF), which celebrates the best of the UK creative industries whilst creating pathways for aspiring young creatives, returns to Margate on 10-11 July for two days of networking, inspirational talks and beachside fun.

UKFC also hosts the Creative Careers Fair, led by the Creative Foundation set up by Dina and Jeremy Green. It’s the only careers fair in the country that is solely focused on the creative industries and has so far welcomed over 2000+ students in the past three years.

The fair aims to address the lack of diversity in the UK creative sectors and provides opportunities and guidance to the next generation of young talent, helping to build pathways and connections into fields that inspire them and breaking barriers that hinder accessibility to the industry.

Founder Dina Green is keen to get more event organisations involved this year, and is partnering with event agency Freeman, the Event Apprenticeships scheme, and micebook, which is supporting the event through media and content.

“I’d love some agency and industry leaders to come along and meet these young aspiring creatives and talk to them about all the opportunities the events sector has to offer. It’s a fantastic opportunity to shout about our amazing industry to the next generation and get a more diverse cohort coming through the ranks,” she said.

Highlights of this year’s Fair programme include:

  • A partnership with ERIC, a creative careers App, which will be hosting all the job opportunities that are available in the area as well as other opportunities ranging from work experience and internships.
  • A sponsor that will be making a two-part ‘Best of British Creativity’ TV show from the festival that will be broadcast on Black Gen TV, Pride TV and Hispanic TV to over 10million audience worldwide.
  • The ‘Best of British Creative Exhibition’, showcasing all the shortlisted work for the Creative Circle Awards held on the Thursday night, alongside work from the British Fashion Council, RIBA, Turner and other creative powerhouses to inspire the next generation of creative talent.
  • Brands coming to talk about their work and deliver workshops, mentor and networking sessions including Nike, Adidas, Muller, British Airways, TikTok, John Lewis, Innocent drinks, the Guardian, Sony, Prime Video, Schwarzkof Live, Mastercard, ITV, Channel4, Nurofen, Tesco, Uber, Brompton Bikes to name a few.

Tickets are on sale for this year’s event, which is set to be bigger and better than ever, and UK Creative Festival is offering the micebook community a 25% discount on tickets (Use code: MICEBOOK). By investing in a festival ticket, attendees are directly supporting the next generation of creatives, with profits covering the cost of hosting the Creative Careers Fair.

Headline speakers confirmed include influencers at Muller, TikTok, Vanish, Lego, PG Tips, John Lewis, Innocent drinks, the Guardian, Sony, Prime Video, Schwarzkof Live, ITV, Channel4, Nurofen, Tesco, Uber, Brompton Bikes to name a few – to name just a few – while the event provides the opportunity to network with award-winning agencies, brands, and top talent in the UK Creative industry.
