Strata has kicked off 2024 with a new senior appointment as Kevin Robinson joins from FIRST as group head of strategic accounts to further build on the agency’s success and continue its strong growth in 2023.
Starting this month, Robinson brings almost 30 years’ experience to the role, having worked in client services roles at some of the biggest global event agencies including Grass Roots, BCD M&E, and most recently as chief client officer at FIRST.
“We are thrilled to have Kevin join the team. He has a huge amount of experience across a range of sectors that is going to be invaluable in helping us achieve our ambitions in the coming years,” said Strata CEO Simon Hambley.
Robinson added: “My role will be to strengthen and lead our key client relationships and client teams across the Pharmaceutical, Technology, FMCG, Financial and Professional Services sectors. I’m looking forward to working with Strata’s extremely experienced and talented teams in supporting our clients’ objectives and the continued growth of the business.”
2023 saw Strata increase its client base to 28 clients and deliver innovative and experiential campaigns across a broad range of industry sectors for brands such as Peugeot, Polestar, Sony, Intel and Citroen, and it recently revealed 18% revenue growth.
The year also saw Strata acquire On Event Production, a live, virtual, and hybrid event production company, and grow its workforce by 42% to over 85 employees in Strata and more than 110 in the group, with a move to a new London office in Covent Garden to accommodate the growth.
“Our people are at the heart of the business, and recruitment of the very best talent continues to be a priority for Strata,” said Simon Hambley. “By actively promoting diversity in our hiring practices and fostering a culture of respect and open communication, we have built a team that represents a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and expertise – something we are very proud of.”
Another success in 2023 was the launch of Strata Insights, an exclusive series of insights events which gathered key industry specialists and Strata clients at venues across London to discuss key topics for marketers in 2023.
Following almost two years of development, 2024 will see the launch of Sherbert, a new proprietary technology product developed in-house that will extend the agency’s offering in incentive, reward, recognition and retention programmes.
Giles Cattle, director of creative and strategy at Strata commented: “It’s fantastic to see the hard work and creativity of our team help us build towards a future where brand experiences will continue to become one of the most valuable channels for brands to connect to their audiences.”
