With sustainability rapidly becoming a non-negotiable in the events sector, we’re excited to give #eventprofs the opportunity to learn from leaders in the field at our Power 50 Green Champions event next month.
Taking place on 10 October at Barbican in London, the event will kick off with thought-provoking content sessions in the afternoon, including an inspirational keynote from renowned sustainability champion Chris Hines MBE in partnership with Speakers Corner.
In his session ‘Towards a positive future’, Hines, who was founder and Director of Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) and Sustainability Director at the Eden Project, will discuss how to affect the massive change that is needed to tackle the dual challenges of the climate crisis and massive biodiversity loss, and why we all need to assume our roles as intelligent activists playing to our strengths and skills to meet these challenges.
Select individuals from the first Power 50 Green Champions, representing a range of different perspectives (corporate, agency, venue, supplier) will share their experiences on stage, discussing what made their entries stand out, and provide insights into how they are trailblazing in the field of sustainability.
We will also be running collaborative workshops with the Power 50 Green Champions, which will cover some of the key challenges across different areas of sustainability, from engaging clients and the supply chain to measurement and certification, to share best practice and discuss solutions.
Following an afternoon of thought-provoking content, the event will include an evening celebration and further networking opportunities in the stunning surrounds of Barbican’s Conservatory.
The Power 50 Green Champions event is open to event planners and suppliers interested in learning about sustainability best practice from the industry’s leaders in this area. You can find out more and register to attend here.
About the Power 50 Green Champions
Created in partnership with isla, micebook’s Power 50 Green Champions is the first industry initiative dedicated to shining the spotlight on individuals within the UK events industry who are devoting their time, passion and energy to making a positive impact on the planet.
Entries for the Power 50 were invited from across the industry, with individuals being self-nominated or nominated by their peers and judged by a panel of sustainability experts both within and outside the events sector in July. Those who made it into the final 50 will be revealed on the day.
By celebrating the changemaking achievements of 50 individuals across the industry, at all stages of their careers, we hope to share best practice and inspire others to make positive change.
