Around 90 #eventprofs joined micebook LIVE at the recently opened art’otel London Battersea Power Station last Wednesday for content, networking and a showcase of the stylish new property in London’s hottest new neighbourhood.
Buyers from Finastra, Owl Live, OrangeDoor, Eventful, Touch Associates, eveology, LIVE Group and more joined the event, along with micebook partners including isla, Hotel Republic, Singapore Tourism Board, Destination Vancouver, About Partners, The Dorchester, and Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau.
The event kicked off in the afternoon with three campfire-style content sessions on the topics of people, purpose and progress.
SLEEK Events’ relationship director Karen Small led the people session, covering all things resourcing and relationships, from the talent crisis and nurturing young leaders in the industry, to client, agency and supplier relationships.
FIRST’s senior marketing co-ordinator Tori Higgins ran the purpose session, during which we discussed how planners and suppliers align our goals to better ‘sell in’ sustainability to clients, measuring impact and the significance of initiatives like B Corp and more.
In the progress session, Principal Events’ Lidia Sakarapani led a discussion around how meetings and events should adapt to the changing priorities of organisations in the last few years.
Our attendees then enjoyed a glass of fizz on the stunning (if a little chilly) rooftop with spectacular views over Battersea Power Station, and heard more about the hotel itself, and the ongoing redevelopment of the area.
This was followed by an evening of drinks, delicious food and networking in the hotel’s JOIA bar.
