Venue and events services platform, Hire Space, has introduced an Event Sustainability Hub to help eventprofs on their sustainability journey, with resources informed by sustainability leaders in the industry, including isla, event:decision, and Reset Connect.
The hub features content and resources for event organisers, including Hire Space’s recommendations for sustainable event venues, and guidance from isla on setting event sustainability objectives. It also aims to help venues with becoming more climate-conscious and provides a guide for venues on transitioning to more sustainable operations.
Jess Cowie, who has led the project, said the company wanted to share guidance and resources from a wide range of organisations to promote collaboration and awareness around sustainability in events.
“There’s a lot of great work being done on improving sustainability in our industry, and we wanted to make sure our clients had access to the support available. We hope that by sharing resources and guides from experts in the sector, more of our partners and clients will feel confident pushing for sustainability in their events,” she explained.
“Improving the industry’s footprint means working together, and the more organisations that invest in reducing their impact now, the more chance we have of reaching net zero emissions by 2050. Hire Space’s position at the centre of venues, organisers, and suppliers gives us an opportunity to broaden awareness of sustainability in events, and our aim is to help make it accessible to everyone.”
The Sustainability Hub is an ongoing initiative that welcomes partnerships with other organisations working towards promoting sustainability.
