EDGE Venues is running a silent auction to support the Disasters Emergency Committee’s (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The auction, which started earlier this month and runs through to 12 April, features over 70 prizes, from overnight hotel stays and weekends away to afternoon teas ‐ donated by hotels and venues in locations across the UK.
The auction is open to absolutely anyone, ensuring as much money as possible is raised to support the appeal and 100 per cent of the proceeds go to the DEC. The EDGE Team is encouraging the industry to share the auction with friends, family, businesses and colleagues.
Jacqui Kavanagh, EDGE Venues CEO, said: I am just appalled that this is even happening, and we seem to be so helpless as a world to stop such atrocities. We as a company could just not stand by and do nothing and whilst we have got donations of stuff to be sent to the Ukraine, we have taken some practical steps which I hope you can help me support. Please share the auction link with your friends and family.
“Each year we normally have an online charity auction based around our educational trips to hotels and venues to raise money for local charities. We had over 70 prizes that we collected last year (but were unable to hold the auction) so we have set up a silent auction to support the people of Ukraine. Every few days a number of lots are finished. We have already raised £1,000 and our target is to raise £5,000. All the hotels have been great and are adding to the lots, so we are now over 90 lots and we will keep going to raise as much as we can.”
