Mister micebook has always had a touch of opulence about him…

Ah Monaco. This jewel of a destination has glittered for many a decade and the perennial favourite fails to go out of fashion – it was just named fifth most in-demand MICE destination in EMEA for 2019  (tied with the UAE) by Pacific World. Lucky then that a slew of revamped hotels in Monte Carlo are on hand to entertain loyal visitors keen to frequent this luxurious hotspot this spring.

First on Mister micebook’s list is the Hotel de Paris, something of a grande dame dating back to 1864, which has reopened following a four-year renovation. Each of the 207 rooms in this iconic hotel feature stylish fabrics and are bedecked with luxurious ornaments, while the fine food and drink options deserve to be explored.

Check out Ô Mer by Alain Ducasse and after feasting on the finest of meals, head to Le Bar Américain for drinks on the new terrace opening onto the sea.

For a more boutique experience, the Columbus Monte Carlo is tucked away in the neighbourhood location of Fontvieille, overlooking the Riviera. Offering 181 rooms, this chic property also recently underwent an extensive refurbishment, reopening last summer.

Event profs will be keen to note the well-appointed boardroom and the luxury suites that can be converted for meetings, while in Casino Square itself, the One Monte-Carlo conference centre is set to open this spring, featuring a main conference space for 300 plus an auditorium for up to 80 delegates.

But it isn’t all about work this spring – the main event in May is of course the Grand Prix, when this already glamorous destination reaches a new peak altogether. Head to the Fairmont Monte Carlo for prime views of the action – the 602-room four-star property overlooks the famed Fairmont hair-pin bend, one of the most dramatic elements of the Monaco’s Grand Prix circuit.
