Load up on carbs, get your stretching in and let your competitive side overcome you, because this October sees the return of London’s most picturesque half marathon taking place on Sunday 13th October.
And this year, your favourite meetings industry charity needs you – Meeting Needs, the registered charity founded by leading figures in the UK conference and events industry, still has places for eventprofs keen to fundraise for worthy causes relevant to the events industry.
The Royal Parks Half sets off in Hyde Park itself and runners will get to pass by the capital’s most famous landmarks as roads remain closed for the duration of the race. As befitting the name, the half marathon route includes four of London’s eight Royal Parks – Hyde Park, The Green Park, St James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
This is the fourth year Meeting Needs is entering a team and there are around three spaces left for any runners keen to complete the 40-strong team that will be taking part. Last year the charity raised an impressive £20,000, and a total of £42,000 has been raised over the previous three years.
So, get your training plan sorted and limber up. But be warned – Mister micebook and his friends have been in training – catch them if you can!
