News that British Airways has brought back its once-popular route to Osaka will delight fans of this vibrant destination that combines achingly hip culture with traditions galore.
Accommodation options are on the rise, with a new addition from Marriott adding to hotel stock. The Courtyard by Marriott Osaka Honmachi (right) is set to open at the end of the year and will feature 193 guest rooms and suites, plus an all day dining restaurant with open kitchens.
Meanwhile, the Best Western Plus Hotel Fino Osaka Kitahama, set beside the Aji River and close to Kitahama Station, boasts 129 rooms and is perfectly located for exploring the city.
There are plenty of five-star luxury brands present in the city, including Ritz-Carlton Osaka, Conrad Osaka and St Regis Osaka, all of which boast stylish rooms and an array of spaces for meetings and events.
The 16th-century shogunate Osaka Castle is a treat to discover and the perfect contrast to Universal Studios Japan, where Super Nintendo World is scheduled to open in 2020.
