Nteractive and Rocco Forte Hotels recently hosted a group of corporate planners for a thought-provoking panel discussion and dining experience that explored the evolving role of food and beverage in luxury hospitality and event design.

Held in the elegant surroundings of Brown’s Hotel, the evening was organised as part of Nteractive’s Inspire Series, designed to spark fresh thinking among industry leaders.

Chaired by Ian Cummings, CEO of Nteractive, the panel featured Lydia Forte, Group Director of Food & Beverage at Rocco Forte Hotels, alongside Ben McCormack, seasoned restaurant critic and Telegraph Luxury contributor, and members of Nteractive’s F&B Experience team. Together, they shared stories, trends, and reflections on how food can become a more meaningful part of the guest experience, whether in a fine dining restaurant or a brand activation.

A recurring theme was the idea that hospitality is becoming increasingly emotional, and more about how people feel, not just what they’re served. Lydia Forte reflected on the shift from formality to generosity, noting that true luxury today is often found in small, thoughtful touches rather than grand gestures. She shared how Rocco Forte Hotels is designing dining experiences that feel warm, local and personal, rooted in place and personality.

Ben McCormack discussed how storytelling plays a vital role in creating memorable meals. From the origin of ingredients to the theatre of service, guests are increasingly interested in the narrative behind what’s on the plate.

The conversation also touched on sustainability, with both Lydia Forte and the Nteractive team emphasising the need to balance impact with indulgence. While premium dining must still deliver a ‘wow’, there’s growing demand from corporate clients to ensure that ‘wow’ is waste-conscious, locally sourced, and transparently delivered.

After the panel session, guests were treated to a bespoke tasting menu by Brown’s Head Chef Andrew Sawyer, who introduced each course. Every plate told a story, and each wine pairing, selected by the hotel’s sommelier, added another layer to the narrative (the chocolate mousse is to die for and was paired perfectly with a sparkling tea).

Thanks to Nteractive for inviting micebook to join a very inspiring and enjoyable evening.
