Corporate travel and event management agency Reed & Mackay has announced the appointment of Pauline Houston to the newly created position of global managing director of Reed & Mackay Events.
The creation of the role demonstrates the company’s continued investment into its growing events division and follows the recent additions of James Kent as head of growth and Emma Chamberlain as commercial director to work alongside global director of events, Mandy Warwick.
With a career spanning over 25 years in business travel, meetings and events, Houston has had global roles leading sales and supplier management, operations and product development with American Express and CWT, and has worked with top FTSE 250 and Fortune 500 companies.
A major player in corporate travel management and events, she has also worked with industry organisations including the ITM, Women in Travel and GBTA and is currently chair of the EMEA Chapter of WINiT.
“I’m excited to be joining Reed & Mackay Events at a time when meetings and events are on the rise, with companies that know the value of bringing team members together to collaborate, drive innovative strategies and support talent retention,” said Houston.
“Reed & Mackay Events have and continue to invest heavily in global acquisitions, technology development and products – such is the importance of the global events growth strategy.”
Julie Oliver, CEO UK, Europe, and Global Events at Reed & Mackay added: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Pauline to the team at such an exciting time for Reed & Mackay. We are committed to offering a value proposition to our clients that offers transient travel alongside team offsites and full event management under one contract. Pauline will support me and the wider team to continue our global growth strategy.”
