We’re excited to announce the launch of micebook Corporate Collective, a community group for senior corporate event leaders to connect, learn and develop, founded by our buyer community director Jo Beames.
We believe that by bringing corporate event professionals together in the spirit of collaboration, we can create a supportive network, which will contribute to the growth and evolution of the events industry.
Through Corporate Collective, micebook is dedicated to hosting regular meetings for elevated conversations, innovation and knowledge exchange that inspires members and enriches professional experiences and outcomes.
Each meeting will aim to deliver tangible takeaways that members can feedback to their teams or communicate up the chain to stakeholders.
Corporate Collective officially launches with 20+ members across a range of corporate organisations and sectors from finance to professional services, technology & more.
“I am passionate about bringing corporate event leaders together as I know that it can sometimes be a very lonely place at the top,” says Beames, who will develop and drive the growth of the community.
“Corporate Collective provides a safe space and positive environment where corporate leaders can come as their authentic selves to tackle challenges, discuss ideas, share best practice and form trusted industry friendships. I want our members to leave each meeting feeling uplifted and come away with key takeaways that support them both professionally and personally in their roles as leaders.”
Meetings are Chatham House Rules to enable members to talk openly, though we may occasionally share topline highlights from the discussions.
Our first meeting, which took place last month, saw senior planners come together to discuss how to manage internal stakeholders, with two case studies shared.
The biggest challenges for corporate events teams in justifying the value of events internally to stakeholders were getting a seat at the strategic table, being involved earlier in the decision-making process, measuring the right data, and presenting it in a useful way.
Solutions discussed included being more proactive in booking regular catch ups, quarterly reviews and reporting (and if you are not asked to report then start doing it anyway), finding internal advocates among your stakeholders to champion you and help raise your profile, and raising your profile externally in the events industry through awards and more.
