2022 was well and truly ignited throughout January as #eventprofs across the UK and the world took part in challenges to start this year better.

From Bromley to Belfast, Cliveden to the Chilterns, and Quebec to Cape Town, we’re thrilled that so many of you got involved in our #mbignite Challenge, with an array of wellness walks, fitness challenges and fundraising and charity initiatives to better yourselves and your local communities.

Here’s a roundup of what everyone got up to:

micebook’s Northern team Liv & Nisha banished the #bluemonday blues with a walk between Manchester United and Manchester City, covering 5 miles from one stadium to the next with a few surprise stops along the way.

The Turner Agency enjoyed a 22-minute remote team walk in beautiful weather near their homes. The team covered a collective 22 km between them and felt energised!

From the 10th-31st of January 2022, Edmonton All In team set personal fitness and wellness goals in support of #mbignite22. From the local Edmonton team to Business Development Account Managers in Ottawa and the UK, everyone stepped up to the challenge:
Nicola Alexander – completed swimming 10,000 meters in her local pool in Leighton Buzzard, UK!
Stephanie Lynch, – Tracked 100 km by walking, skating and x-country skiing in Edmonton’s River Valley.

The Broadsword team ran, walked and cycled a total of 180km during the last weekend of January. “We’ve loved the micebook Ignite Challenge, starting this year positively, to better ourselves and our communities and collected for our local food bank.”

Our very own micebook ventures expeditionist Chris McQue went for a 50-mile ride with Michael Wiseman and Charlie Alger through the Surrey Hills.

Rocco Forte Hotels Director of Global Sales, Charla Forinton and Group Sales Manager, Claire ten Hacken organised a great initiative in collaboration with micebook Ignite 22 Challenge. Starting at Brown’s Hotel, they enjoyed two guided walks through Mayfair in partnership with 2BUK DMC to reconnect with industry friends, gain some knowledge about London and raise funds for mental health charity Beyond.

Nicola Roodt organised and completed a 10K Surrey run on Saturday 22 January.

DRPG installed food donation stations for colleagues and clients in our Covent Garden, Midlands, and Windsor offices to contribute any unused Christmas foods or specifically purchased goods. “The stations will run up until the end of January, when we’ll deliver the collected products to food banks in our local communities. However, we love the idea so much, we think we’ll continue the effort throughout 2022!”

OrangeDoor CEO & Founder Elizabeth Heron hosted local eventprofs in the Bromley area, including Amplified HotelsPaul Hutton, Faye Banwell, Belmond’s Perrine Chapelain and micebook’s Susie Harwood, for a walk in the Kent countryside followed by lunch at her house.

The Visit Belfast team had a blast lifting litter at National Trust Divis Mountain. “Thanks to Shanna Rice, Volunteering and Community Manager for facilitating & to micebook for the January IGNITE challenge!”

The Green Route Africa team decided to #MBignite22 with a team fitness challenge. Some of the team & family members met for walk down the scenic Sea Point Promenade. “We walked 5kms and Cape Town was truly showing off with a beautiful day, hang gliders taking off from Lions Head & landing on the promenade and the sea was stormy & magnificent. We have now challenged ourselves to start getting together for more scenic walks once a month.”

The FIRST/Clive London office also started a collection for their local food bank, which will run throughout February.

Well done and congratulations to all who took part. The micebook Ignite Challenge will be back, bigger and better, in January 2023.
