The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the opening of a number of hotels across the UK. But this means the back end of 2020 will see a flurry of hot new properties open their doors, many of which are ideal for hosting small corporate events in line with current government guidelines.
Here’s four we’re excited to check out…
The Mayfair Townhouse
Located just off Piccadilly across seven Georgian listed buildings, The Mayfair Townhouse will open in November with 172 rooms & suites (including two Penthouse Suites and Garden Suites), The Dandy Bar, private gym and versatile event spaces. Some lucky eventprofs will get the chance to see the hotel first-hand, before it even opens at our first live (guidelines permitting) event at the property on 4 November. Register your interest for the event here.
Hotel Indigo, Bath
This 166-bedroom boutique hotel in Bath, which was delayed for over a year by COVID and other challenges, finally opened this month. Set in a honey coloured Georgian terrace, the Grade one listed building is set in the peaceful street of South Parade, just steps away from the city centre. The Elder restaurant serves up contemporary British food with a focus on sustainability, seasonality and locally-sourced produce, while a dedicated meeting room for up to ten people is located in the Private House, which has eight bedrooms and private dining and living spaces. It can be used solely as a meeting room, or for complete hire of the entire Georgian townhouse.
NoMad London
Sydell Group, the company behind hip luxury London hotel, The Ned, is due to debut its NoMad brand in the grade II-listed former Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station in Covent Garden this December. Interiors, designed in collaboration with New York-based studio Roman and Williams, will draw inspiration from the building’s history and location in Covent Garden, as well the artistic and cultural connection between London and New York.
Artist Residence, Bristol
For groups looking for a more boutique, arty vibe, the new Artist Residence is due to open in the city this autumn. Located in the heart of the creative St Paul’s community just minutes from Bristol’s city centre and Stokes Croft, the 23-bedroom property is housed in a former boot factory. Like its sister hotels in Brighton, Pimlico (pictured right), Penzance and Oxfordshire, the hotel will feature an eclectic fusion of art and vintage. It will also offer a coffee shop, bar, kitchen, event space and garden, “serving simple, honest food and drink”.
