Singapore was recently named the top meetings destination in Asia-Pacific by Cvent, maintaining its number 1 ranking for the eighth time. With a steady stream of new properties and renovations, there is always something new for event planners to discover. We check out five of the best recent openings…
Mama Shelter Singapore
Mama Shelter made its Asian debut last September, bringing its signature blend of cheeky charm, eclectic design, and community spirit to the heart of Singapore. Located on Killiney Road in the Somerset district, just minutes from Orchard Road, the property features 115 colourful rooms.
The Mama Restaurant and Island Bar serves an all-day brasserie-style menu, while the rooftop is imagined as a jungle clearing, surrounded by tropical greenery and mosaic-tiled pools. One of the hotel’s two pools doubles as a stage for DJ sets and live performances, while the rooftop restaurant serves fresh, coastal Mediterranean dishes designed for sharing.

The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, Singapore
The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort (main image) opened at Resorts World Sentosa last October, marking the debut of Singapore’s first Marriott Luxury Collection branded property. An all-suite property, The Laurus offers 183 elegantly suites nestled in the lush tropical rainforest on Sentosa Island.
For MICE groups, three tranquil courtyards and the Joaquim Hall, which accommodates up to 200 guests, offer versatile settings for meetings, dinners, networking events and more. Laurus Table, the hotel’s specialty restaurant, features a celebrity consultant chef and a refined menu of sustainable dishes inspired by the region. The property also features a spa, fitness centre, and landscaped pool.
Hotel Waterloo Singapore – Handwritten Collection
Part of Accor’s Handwritten Collection, Hotel Waterloo Singapore officially opened its doors in January 2026 in the vibrant Bras Basah-Bugis arts and heritage district. The newly built 502-room property, which takes its name from its location in Waterloo Street, is within walking distance to multiple museums and cultural gems.
Facilities include a restaurant, bar, swimming pool, and a flexible meeting space for up to 40 guests, that is well suited to brainstorming sessions, workshops, or executive meetings.

Varel Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
Also located close to the Bras Basah district, the new Varel Singapore, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, opened its doors in April this year. The 128-room boutique property features a nature-inspired design with lush, suspended sky gardens and terraces.
At the heart is Hathaway Autograph, an all-day dining venue serving Southeast Asian flavours, across both indoor and alfresco seating. It also features a Vernacular Coffee outpost, Saga Bar and rooftop pool bar.
The Mora Singapore
Singapore will be the first destination in Asia to welcome a Tui hotel, when The Mora Singapore opens in September 2026 as the third Mora property worldwide. Set within the Labrador Nature Reserve and about 15 minutes from the city central, the colonial bungalow style hotel will offer just 20 rooms and suites, an outdoor pool and indoor jacuzzi.
A neighbouring building offers an executive lounge, a bar, and two restaurants. The Tui Musement App will stock a curated list of local experiences for guests including small‑group Singapore local food tour, a history and culture river cruise tour combining visits to key landmarks, and a sunset cruise on a catamaran – sailing around the Southern Islands.
