The first-ever Meeting Needs Golf Day took place last week at Carden Park Hotel, marking the launch of what is hoped will become a regular fixture in the UK events industry calendar.

Organised by XSEM MD and Meeting Needs board member Dan Bardgett, and Matt Curran from Chew Events, the event brought together 24 golfers for a friendly competition between 12 agency players and 12 supplier partners.

The day successfully raised £3,700 for Meeting Needs, the event industry charity that supports life-changing projects for people in need across the globe, with the supplier team taking the victory 4–2.

Among the players were Caroline Windsor (TFI Lodestar) and Bernice Heard (Hyatt Hotels), both Meeting Needs board members, who joined fellow event professionals including micebook’s Nic Sancho for a day of golf, networking, and giving back.

“It was great to see the event supported by so many prominent agencies and partners from across the industry. Our aim was to start small but bring together a great bunch of people so we can build on it in 2026 and beyond,” said Bardgett.
