The inaugural micebook Northern Edition event brought together an 80-strong group of event buyers and suppliers for a day of education, inspiration and one-to-one meetings at the newly opened Treehouse Manchester last week.

Under the theme Work, Rest and Play, the event featured content and workshop sessions, which explored the balance between performance, wellbeing, and creativity—all essential ingredients for thriving in the fast-paced events industry.

Agency buyers from across the North of England attended including Your Event Solutions, XSEM, DRPG, First Event, Brighter, Smyle, Black Book, Top Banana and more, met with suppliers including Visit Monaco Convention Bureau, our headline partner, Grimaldo Forum Monaco, Switzerland Tourism, Destination Vancouver, Shangri-La Group, Silverstone, Artemis Venue Collection and more.

The day kicked off with an inspiring keynote by Adaptive Adventurer, Record-Breaking Explorer and award-winning speaker Darren Edwards, thanks to our partnership with Speakers Corner.

Darren shared his extraordinary journey from spinal injury to adaptive adventurer, reinforcing the importance of a strong mindset, overcoming adversity, and finding opportunity in the face of challenge—lessons that every event professional can take forward in their own paths.

Attendees also got the opportunity to choose two workshop sessions, which included interactive session by Jessica Shaw, Founder & Creator of PACT Creative Training on the power of play and unlocking creativity, innovation, and collaboration and conference wellness expert Sarah Hunt on the importance of rest and recovery.

Colin Hill, Managing Director of Chilled Agency, hosted an insightful session exploring what B2B events can learn from bold, immersive BTC activations and micebook CEO Chetan Shah moderated a panel session featuring agency leaders and next gen event profs on bridging the generational gap.

The panel included XSEM’s Dan Bardgett, Your Event Solutions’ Natalie Glasgow. YES Smyle’s Becca Clark and Sam Baldwin from Brighter.

Guests enjoyed a networking lunch sponsored by AO Arena Manchester, part of the ASM Global portfolio, and were treated to a Monaco Spritz tasting as part of the evening reception.

Thanks to our other event partners EPH Creative, Grip and Stirling Event Group.
