From Amsterdam to Abu Dhabi, and Bangkok to Zurich, we check out six hot luxury hotels set to open their doors in 2024…

Mandarin Oriental Zurich

This latest property from the luxury Mandarin Oriental brand opened its doors on 21 December, just in time for Christmas, offering event planners a brand new option in Zurich for 2024. Founded in 1838, this iconic property, the former Savoy Baur en Ville hotel, has been redesigned by interior designer Tristan Auer. Located on Paradeplatz, the main square in Zurich’s old town, Mandarin Oriental Zurich offers 44 rooms and 36 suites.

Facilities include fine dining Italian restaurant ORSINI – led by Consultant Chef Antonio Guida from the two-Michelin-starred Seta restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, Milan – as well as the French-inspired all day dining Savoy Brasserie and Bar, and rooftop bar 1838. The hotel also offers 800 sqm of meeting and events space, including the restored grand ballroom and historic guild hall.

Rosewood Amsterdam

Rosewood Amsterdam will open in 2024 as Rosewood’s first property in the Netherlands. Housed in the former Palace of Justice, a building of great architectural and historical significance that overlooks the Prinsengracht (the Prince’s Canal), the property will offer 134 rooms and suites, with many boasting spectacular canal views.

Amenities will include three restaurants and bars; Asaya Spa; a fitness centre; and an indoor swimming pool. In addition, there will be multiple event spaces and meeting rooms, including a ballroom. All public spaces will overlook the three distinct, internal landscaped courtyards of the building.

ME Lisbon

Meliá Hotels International is set to open its first hotel in Lisbon under its ME by Meliá brand in 2024. Currently under construction, ME Lisbon will be located on the corner of the downtown avenues of Antonio Augusto de Aguiar and Fontes Pereira de Melo, alongside the Eduardo VII Park and Marquês de Pombal Square.

The 213-room hotel has been designed by Portuguese architect João Paciência and will feature a semi-transparent glass façade, with interior design by Broadway Malyan studio. Facilities will include an all-day à la carte restaurant, the brand’s Radio Rooftop Bar, a gym, spa and health club including an indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath and massage cabins. The hotel will offer more than 600 sqm of space for meetings and events across 11 flexible and adaptable rooms.

Nobu Toronto

Across the pond, Nobu will make its Canadian debut with Nobu Hotel, Restaurant & Residences in the heart of Toronto’s vibrant Entertainment District. Nobu Hotel Toronto is situated above the historic Pilkington Glass Factory with two dramatic residential towers housing residences and the hotel located atop the west tower offering panoramic views of Lake Ontario and the city skyline.

The 36-suite urban resort features a private hotel lounge, wellness facility with state-of-the-art fitness equipment, and the highly anticipated two-level Nobu restaurant with separate bar & lounge, two private dining rooms, sushi bar and outdoor terrace.

Mondrian Abu Dhabi

Mondrian’s first location in the UAE will arrive Abu Dhabi in 2024. The brand’s first project in the United Arab Emirates, Mondrian Abu Dhabi is a collaboration with the Al Hazoom Group, and located a short distance from the city’s most popular destinations including The Corniche, Abu Dhabi Mall and The Galleria.

The new Mondrian Abu Dhabi will feature 221 rooms and 80 serviced apartments, as well as six food and beverage venues, a ballroom, four meeting rooms, a spa, swimming pool, and fitness area.

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok

Following its long-awaited New York debut, Aman is set to open another urban resort in 2024, amid the skyscrapers of central Bangkok, Thailand. Featuring the 52-suite Aman Nai Lert Bangkok hotel, up to 50 Aman Residences and a newly confirmed Aman Club, the property will be nestled in the tropical gardens of the historic Nai Lert Park in the heart of Bangkok.

The new urban sanctuary is being designed by world-renowned architect, Jean-Michel Gathy, founder of Denniston and a long-time collaborator of Aman. The hotel will be the second Thailand outpost for Aman, joining the luxury brand’s first property, the flagship Amanpuri in Phuket.
