Global venue sourcing and events agency veSpace has outlined ambitious growth targets following a successful year, which included new contract wins and renewals with clients including Boots, Cap Gemini, Balfour Beatty and BP.

Speaking at the annual veSpace Partner Summit, which took place at ExCeL London on Monday, chief strategy officer Chris Parnham said: “The last financial year, we spent around £17m globally with venues. The current financial year we are in now, we are spending up to £21m with venues, and the next financial year we expect to be spending £25m, so these are big growth steps we are taking year on year.”

Parnham and CEO Anita Lowe discussed their highlights from the past year with the audience of hotel and venue partners, including the rebrand to veSpace, client wins, a head office move, opening a London studio, and the acquisitions of experiential agency Chilled Events and Edinburgh-based incentive house K&N Travel.

Lowe said that the growth of the team, as well as the client base, was a key highlight for her. “We’re 87 people now, and we are proud of the team. We are focused on making sure we develop them through our investors in people, and through our emerging talent programme, which has been going for three years and has a waiting list for next year.”

She added that the agency has just hired a new CFO and several new members of the finance team.

“In 2024, the team will continue to be a big focus. We will also look at our client portfolio and make sure that we are balanced with our market sectors. But the most exciting thing for me is the whole creative area and how we can develop that division and become more of a marketing and creative agency,” said Lowe, adding that there is always the potential for another acquisition to grow the veSpace family.

The Partner Summit also included a session by Cvent and Venuedirectory.com, a corporate panel session (highlights of which will be shared separately), and interactive workshops run by senior members of the veSpace team.
