W Hotels has opened a hotel in Edinburgh, marking the Marriot Bonvoy-owned brand’s debut into Scotland and it’s second UK property.
Located in the lifestyle district of St. James Quarter, W Edinburgh boasts a striking rooftop deck with panoramic views, as well as the W Hotels brand’s signature Sound Suite recording studio, a first for the UK and the second in Europe.
Inspired by the best of Scottish culture and history, the hotel sits across three distinct buildings and offers 199 rooms and 45 suites, many with outdoor terraces offering views of the city.
W Edinburgh has three dining concepts. The top floors and panoramic terraces of the hotel are home to the country’s first SUSHISAMBA restaurant and the W Lounge, and a Brazilian-inspired speakeasy named João’s Place.
SUSHISAMBA will bring its unique mix of Japanese, Peruvian and Brazilian cuisine to the Scottish capital, while the W Lounge will serve dishes that nod to the city’s famous flavours and produce and include Grilled West Coast Razor Clams with Seaweed and Citrus Butter, Perthshire Venison Loin with Celeriac, Scottish Girolle, Brambles and Whisky Jus, and XL Scottish Rarebit.
The hotel offers five meeting and event studios accommodating up to 28, while unique spaces available include W Deck rooftop and in-house Sound Studio. There is also spa and fitness centre.
