The recent GLAM 2023 event saw 10 luxury hotel brands reunite on 29 March for a second year, bringing together 140 event buyers for an evening of industry networking, celebration and fundraising at Mr Foggs Apothecary in Mayfair.
GLAM – which stands for Global Luxury Aligned for MICE – was hosted by Rocco Forte Hotels, Dorchester Collection, Belmond, Accor, Kempinski, Corinthia, Four Seasons Hotels, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Shangri-La Group, and The Doyle Collection.
Representatives from agencies including Noble Events, Ulterior Events, Top Banana, Eventful, BI WORLDWIDE, Nteractive, CWT Meetings & Events, Purple Dog Solutions and many more were among those who attended.
In addition to fabulous food and drinks, the event raised money for event industry charity Meeting Needs. All the hotel brands donated prizes for an online raffle, held on the night, and an online auction, which closes on 12 April. Prizes included stays at five-star properties such as The Balmoral Edinburgh, Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town, Raffles London at the OWO, Corinthia Hotel Lisbon.
At the time of publishing, the total raised on the night and online was close to hitting the £10k mark. Funds raised will go to Clowns without Borders, which supports children affected by war, conflict and natural disaster to heal, learn and thrive again through play. Between April and September Clowns without borders will travel to the Gaziantep region in Turkey, where their values-based performances and workshops will aim to create positive, shared experiences and provide emotional respite for children who need it at a critical time.
The event follows on from the success of the first GLAM, which took place in March 2022 and saw the brands put aside their competitive nature for one night to collaborate.
