Singapore is set to welcome a host of exciting new luxury properties in 2023, ideal for meetings, events and incentives. We round up five of the best…

Mondrian Singapore Duxton

First up, the Mondrian Singapore Duxton is scheduled to open next month (March 2023). Nestled in the heart of the Duxton Hills neighbourhood, a stone’s throw from the Central Business District, it’s the brand’s first property in Singapore. The 304-room hotel features design by Los Angeles-based Studio Carter, which combines historic architecture from traditional Singaporean shophouses with modern, contemporary influences.

Drinking and dining options will include Italian restaurant Bottega di Carna, the Jungle Ballroom tropical bar, which is accessible by a secret tunnel and features a ‘sunken lava stone bar’; and all- Christina’s, which will offer local artisanal produce and wine and cocktails by night. Guests will also be able to enjoy fresh seafood dishes, cocktails and California-inspired fare at the Canyon Club, a rooftop bar inspired by 1970s Hollywood, which includes sweeping views of the Singapore skyline and poolside cabanas.

The property will also include an art collection with works from both emerging and established Singaporean and international artists.

Pan Pacific Orchard

Pan Pacific Hotels Group is expanding its already impressive Singapore portfolio with the opening of the Pan Pacific Orchard in May (main image), which boasts a prime location on the famed Orchard Road in the heart of Singapore’s shopping paradise.

Designed by WOHA Architects, Pan Pacific Orchard features four high-volume, open-air terraces – Forest, Beach, Garden and Cloud – brimming with more than 7,300sqm of foliage that covers more than 200% of the hotel’s land area. Each of the 347 rooms will offer views of either terrace landscape or the cityscape of Singapore.

Check-in at the verdant Forest Terrace, an open-air lobby space with a 120m-tall green column and cascading water features. The hotel’s signature restaurant perches on the second and third floors of Forest Terrace, affording spectacular vistas of the surrounding sanctuary. The Beach Terrace on levels five to 10 offers a beach holiday experience right in the city, while the Garden Terrace further up is a beautifully manicured, tranquil escape. Finally, the Cloud Terrace will be a firm favourite with event planners – thanks to its 420-seat pillarless ballroom with a breezy vista of the city’s landscape.

The Standard Singapore

Opening just off Orchard Road, in a prime location on Orange Grove Road just across from the renowned Shangri-La Singapore, The Standard is set to make its debut in Singapore this year, continuing its Southeast Asian expansion.

The Standard, Singapore will feature 143 rooms housed in a building designed by homegrown architect firm DP Architects, with interiors by Ministry of Design. Envisioned a vibrant social space, the new build hotel will feature the brand’s signature restaurant and nightlife venues, as well as colourful arts and cultural programming. Other highlights will include an infinity swimming pool and bar that will be set within a lush botanical courtyard.

The hotel is also a short walk from the celebrated UNESCO Singapore Botanical Gardens through the picturesque Nassim neighbourhood.

Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa

Coming 135 years after Raffles Hotel first opened its doors, the second Raffles in Singapore is set to open on Sentosa Island later this year.

Inspired by the original Raffles Hotel, which was conceived as a beachfront property, Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa will return the brand to the beach, with an all-villa resort set in over 100,000 square metres of sprawling tropical gardens with views over the South China Sea.

Ranging from 260 square metres in size, all 62 villas will have their own private pool and terrace area for the ultimate retreat in seclusion. Facilities will include a bespoke bar, world-class restaurants, a well-appointed fitness centre, a multi-purpose celebrations room, state-of-the-art meeting spaces and a grand ballroom that can host up to 400 people.

Singapore EDITION

Finally, this autumn will see the launch of the Singapore EDITION, the brand’s maiden hotel in Southeast Asia.

The 190-room property will be located in the heart of the downtown Orchard district, the most popular destination for retail and entertainment. In addition to five restaurant and bar venues, a rooftop pool, spa, and fitness centre, plans also call for 600 square meters of indoor and outdoor meeting space for events.
