Maybourne Hotel Group, the company behind Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley is to open its first new London property in 50 years.
The Emory, the group’s fourth hotel in the capital, will be located on Knightsbridge and is set to open in winter 2023.
Designed by the late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour of architectural firm RSHP, The Emory will feature contemporary design and discreet luxury including a private, understated entrance on Old Barrack Yard and a striking ‘sails’ structure soaring above the treetops of Hyde Park.
The hotel will feature 60 suites set over nine floors complete with a penthouse designed by Rigby & Rigby. Each floor will showcase the aesthetic of a different interior designer including Alexandra Champalimaud, André Fu, Pierre Yves Rochon, Rémi Tessier and Patricia Urquiola.
The hotel’s spectacular rooftop will be the jewel in its crown – an entirely private, sweeping space dedicated to hotel guests only.
For the hotel’s culinary offering, world famous chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will introduce his highly acclaimed ABC concept of fresh, local and conscious cuisine to London for the first time from his Manhattan outpost.
Beneath ground, a wellness space, with a 22-metre pool, will be set across four floors for guests of The Emory.
