Mark Taylor, former client relationship director at BI WORLDWIDE, has launched his own venture Events Taylor Made.
Taylor has more than 30 years’ experience in the MICE industry working for some of the biggest global names, including 18 years at Grass Roots and 14 years at BI WORLDWIDE.
He decided to set up his own company following a restructure at BI WORLDWIDE in April, which meant his role became that of a consultant rather than a full-time employee allowing him to develop his own business.
“I have worked with BI WORLDWIDE since leaving and will continue to work with them as a consultant on projects, but I want to grow my own brand and client base,” said Taylor. “It’s daunting but exciting. The response has been hugely positive so far and I already have a couple of client briefs through.”
Through Events Taylor Made, he will offer a bespoke service managing and delivering a range of events for corporate clients, from conferences and incentives to product launches and hospitality programmes, advising on strategy, communications, audience journey and engagement. He will work across all sectors, but is particularly experienced in the automotive, life science, media and financial services sectors.
“I’m not planning to employ anyone at the moment, but if I need support for larger projects, I have a great network of experienced contacts that I can bring in on a freelance basis who I have already spoken to and are keen.”
Taylor said that he is also open to opportunities working with other agencies on a freelance basis, be it consultancy, project management or an extra pair of hands on-site.
