Sibos, the global financial services networking event organised by SWIFT, has announced that it will return as an in-person event this year in a further sign of the recovery of live events.

Sibos 2022 will take place in Amsterdam on 10-13 October, complemented by a digital conference experience that will extend Sibos to delegates around the world.

The event was a digital only experience in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the global pandemic. The last in-person event, Sibos 2019 at ExCel London, was the biggest Sibos physical gathering ever, with 11,500 delegates attending and more than 300 exhibitors

This year, RAI Amsterdam will host a full conference programme and exhibition, along with a wide range of networking events. Digital passes will also be available for delegates who cannot attend in person, providing virtual access to conference sessions and more.

The conference agenda will feature business leaders and topic experts from across the financial community and beyond, discussing the most impactful trends in technology, regulation, risks and sustainability.

Sibos will also feature a mixture of small and large scale networking events, enabling delegates from around the globe to catch up with key contacts and build new business relationships. Coupled with the opportunity to meet exhibitors from the worlds of banking, payments, securities services, fintech and technology, delegates will gain all the latest insights on the issues and business developments shaping the future of finance.

Jamie Lee, Head of Sibos for SWIFT, said: “We’re excited to be able to bring the financial industry together again in person, and deliver the full Sibos experience of content, connections and community. Sibos 2022 will be an insightful and enjoyable week of high-quality learning, debate, and business development opportunities, hosted in one of the most vibrant financial centres in Europe, with a strong digital layer so as many delegates as possible can benefit from the experience.

“There’s always great energy at Sibos but this year will be really special as the industry reunites to collaborate and drive innovation. Coming together again for the greater good of our industry has never been more important.”
