Liz Johnson, Managing Director of Impacct Ltd and Impacct Live, has launched Impacct Experience, a dedicated DMC for Cornwall and Devon.

Johnson, who has lived in Cornwall for the past eight years, described the new business as a “passion project” and said it’s something she has been considering for a while.

“I have worked in events delivering projects all over the world for corporate clients for over 25 years and it’s an industry that is truly in my blood and I could never dream of doing anything else.

“For several years I’ve been playing with the idea of linking the two to showcase just how amazing this beautiful corner of England is for companies who want to do something a little bit different, think outside of the box, be more sustainable and most of all deliver an amazing experience to their own team or clients,” she commented.

Impacct Experience will target both domestic and international business, with the initial focus being on domestic events and incentives while overseas travel restrictions remain in place.

“We so often take client events overseas, but with sustainability becoming increasingly important, now is the ideal time to consider looking at all the amazing places we have in the UK for hosting events,” said Johnson, adding that the recent G7 Conference in Cornwall had helped shine the spotlight on the area.

“I’m also passionate about giving something back to the beautiful area I call home: working with local small businesses, helping in my very small way to extend the season outside of the traditional July-August peak, giving new opportunities to local people, supporting local initiatives on community, development, sustainability, protecting the environment and of course showcasing the amazing produce, talents, artists and culture of this special corner of the UK.”

Impacct Experience will sit alongside Impacct Ltd, which is focused on delivering international meetings and events in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, and Impacct Live, which is focused on creative and production.

Johnson said she wouldn’t have been able to launch the new business without the support of her “team of superb senior project managers and technical producers”, who will help with Impacct Experience during the start-up period.

“We have built up experience of delivering worldwide events, and now we have a real opportunity to give back and bring some of that experience to showcase the Southwest of the UK.”

She added that she hopes to recruit new staff for the DMC team once the business is up and running and would be looking to recruit locally.
